My Story
Britny Virginia was born with Cerebral Palsy on the sunny island of St. Lucia. She was raised in America and currently resides in the UK.

Recently shortlisted playwright of the Paine's Plough Women's Play Writing Competition (Nov 2025-26'). She is a writer, poet, director, performer, creative producer and workshop facilitator, her work is deeply influenced by her faith, culture and disability. She works across theatre and film

Within her career she has worked with Bloomsbury Festival as a writer/performer and producer for her play Up in the Mango Trees (July - Oct 2025); Revoluton Arts as a panellist adviser, writer and performer (May 2024-Sep 2025); FutureLand & Theatre Peckham as workshop facilitator (Jan - May 2026); workshop facilitator address knife crime prevention with Developwise CIC (Feb - June 2025); Memoir editor, All In Time (Feb 2024 - July 2025); author and writer invited to St Lucian UK High Commission Author Fair (Jan 2026); Leeds Playhouse as a writer/director for Sankofa: Stately Homes project (Oct 2022 - Sept 2023); been the recipient of the Grand Plan £1000 grant award her short film Dancing Shoes which she produced (Dec 2022); director Graeae's: Crips with Chips celebrating Disability Awareness Month (Dec 2021); director for Bush Theatre full-length play R&D (July 2022); playwright Nouveau Riche (Dec 2019) & online workshop facilitator for Crown Boys Mentoring- Montego Bay- Christian School for Deaf students (2023).​
​She has been the Associate Artist: Directing & Devising at Graeae Theatre Company (Nov 2021 - Mar 2023), Assistant Director, Kerbs, Graeae & Belgrade Theatre regional tour (Feb - Mar 2022), poetry workshop facilitator and mentor for RISE Collective, Westminster College (Apr - May 2022), lead facilitator & director, Graeae Young Company (Jun 2022- March 2023), founding member of Peckham Theatre’s resident company, NO TABLE, & writer, director, performer and songwriter/singer for This Woven O - Graeae & Greenwich and Docklands International Festival (GDIF) with St Lucian folk music inspired (Sept 2022).

Her achievements include being interviewed by Psalms House about her journey with faith, disability and creative achievements, co-producer of FRUITS film (2026) and props manager of WHO'S THAT film (2026), Tessitura’s Career Accelerator programme (2026), curating the first-ever disabled-led scratch night called Centre Stage for Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch (Sept 2022), & self-published author: ‘So, I’ll Stay, Sitting With You.’ (Oct 2019), which you can purchase via amazon.

Her dream is to see that faith leaders will be bold in the stories they want to tell, own their stories and sow seeds of hope in whatever community they find themselves in.
